Pay your 2012 premiums on or before February 7, 2012 and save $50 per lawyer (some conditions apply)
You can choose to pay your 2012 premium for your professional liability insurance in a lump sum, or by quarterly or monthly instalments. But only lump sum payments, made by cheque or pre-authorized bank account withdrawals, qualify you for the $50 per lawyer lump sum payment discount.
To benefit from the lump sum payment discount ($54 per insured lawyer from the invoiced amount – $50 for the discount and $4 for PST), you must pay the premium indicated on your invoice in full by cheque, dated and received by LAWPRO on or before February 7, 2012. Base premium for 2012 unchanged; real estate lawyers, new calls and others to pay less
Despite continued growth in the number and cost of claims. LAWPRO will hold its base premium steady at $3,350 – the same level as in 2011 – for the coming year. LAWPRO is also reducing the premium for its Real Estate Practice Coverage Option (REPCO) to $250 per lawyer and is increasing the premium discounts for lawyers new to practice and for certain classes of practitioners – moves that will reduce premiums for thousands of Ontario lawyers.
